Defibrillators
What is a Defibrillator?
When a heart attack is taking place the heart is de-stabilised and begins to ‘fibrillate’, contracting many times a minute. This prevents the normal flow of essential blood through the heart.
Our new best of breed defibrillator, the Defibtech Lifeline self-assesses the condition of the victim and verbally instructs the user. Where appropriate it will shock the heart back into its normal rhythm but, being an intelligent product, it will not shock unless required.
It’s anticipated that defibrillators will become a required First Aid provision in the workplace within the next 10 years.
What training is required to use a defibrillator?
The defibrillator is safe and simple to use but training is essential to ensure individuals have the full confidence they need to use it. This is vital to the patient’s survival.
Be at the forefront of health and safety provision
Defibrillators have already been adopted by forward thinking organisations such as airlines and rail stations. These organisations place a priority on the care of their passengers, customers and employees.
- Be fully qualified to deal with emergencies
- Give your staff the confidence and knowledge to ensure the best outcome
- Take corporate responsibility seriously
Oxford College of First Aid supply a best of breed defibrillator with the essential training to use it.
